The Green School Team
A group of students at River School created a Green Team. First, they observed how the school used water, paper and electricity. They noticed that some classroom lights stayed on when rooms were empty and that many reusable materials went into the trash. The students made posters, placed recycling boxes in useful locations and spoke to other classes. They also started a small garden using reused containers. After several weeks, teachers and students reported better habits. The team knows these actions will not solve every environmental problem, but they believe local changes can encourage people to think and act more carefully.
